Charts: Carly Rae Jepsen Goes Straight In at #1 on Official UK Midweek Charts

Canadian artist Carly Rae Jepsen has produced quite possibly one of the most annolyingly catchy songs of 2012 by a country mile, but it's seems to have done her unsound justice. Her UK breakthrough record entitled 'Call Me Maybe' was last week made Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills' 'Big Thing' and since then it has been engraved in many people's brains as a song playing on and on forever more. The catchy chorus is mainly to blame for this which goes 'hey I just met you, and this is crazy, but here's my number, so call me maybe', there is no denying that the hook is difficult not to sing along to, whether you're a man's man or a adolescent teenage girl. So here's the deal, the record has reached the top spot on the UK midweek charts so there's not a shadow of a doubt that the nation has indeed caught on to the Canadian singer's latest single. After being a runner-up on the 2007 season of Canadian Idol, the singer is finally enjoying her breakthrough, and a UK #1 come Sunday will definitely prove her international pop music credentials. Play.
