Popular Culture: New Adidas London 2012 'Take the Stage' Ad. featuring Wretch 32 and David Beckham


A brilliant advertising campaign by the London 2012 creative think tank and sportswear giants Adidas here drafting in one of the UK's finest rappers, who hails from London himself to present to us a video that represents and instills true Britishness. The advertisement campaign called 'Take the Stage' not only brings hope and excitement for those who are well and truly gearing up for this Summer's home Olympics, but also it portrays to us everything that is good about London and being a Londoner. The video also manages to feature a snippet of David Beckham in a greasy spoon reading a newspaper with a headline of 'The Next Beckham' to his satisfaction, and with a lot of hope and expectation riding on many of Team GB's competitors, this advertisement will help to arouse excitement and a certain buzz to the hype surrounding this Summer's Games with a few Team GB competitors appearing in the ad. Not only does Wretch go in on the fact that we are one of the greatest nations on the planet, he also gives hope to aspiring youngsters, spitting about how you can go from being a nobody to being a somebody through sheer hard work.
