Muse at the London 2012 Olympic Games closing ceremony performing 'Survival' (NME) |
After the successful production of the official soundtrack to this summer's Olympic Games in London with 'Survival', Muse return to the mainframe with fresh musical prospects as we approach the climax of the summer and the season of Fall draws upon us.
'Madness' - the title of their latest single - is a mysteriously meaningful tune which incorporates more of the dance-guitar fusions we witnessed on their last album The Resistance. 'Madness' gained acclaim last night featuring on BBC Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe's 7:30pm hotslot as his Hottest Record in the World Today, as is normally the case with bands of Muse's fanbase and was released immediately after.
In an interview which preceded the song's inaugural airplay, Muse disclosed that their sixth studio album The 2nd Law was indeed on the way, and that it is nearly ready to be distributed to the masses. We at OBWD are very excited. Anyway, it's high time we shut up and let you give the track a spin, here it is...
- 'Madness' is out now and is available to download from all major digital music stores.
- The sixth studio album, The 2nd Law, is set to be released early October.
