'We are Young' is a song that has done incredibly well in the US, it's an indie pop record by a New York ensemble that has been around for a few years called Fun. A strange name for a band is probably running through your head, but this is indeed is somewhat of a fun track by nature. It's already gone to Number 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and it features a strange collaboration with one of America's most creative talents at the moment Jeanelle Monae. Monae isn't at her best in this track and is kind of overshadowed by the big chorus of the song, but we think it's not a bad record. It's not amazing, but it does have an air of quirkyness about it that makes you want to play it once over. After hearing it on BBC Radio 1 DJ Nihal's review show, and it receiving mixed comments last night, we thought it was just to bring it to those who haven't heard it already.'We are Young' has already charted in this week's official midweek charts and is set to chart in this week's final classification come this Sunday. Listen.
