Katy Perry thrived last week upon the release of her latest single 'Part of Me' with the record maintaining the top spot all week long. Following her performance at Maida Vale studios for her BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge Specials gig, she was instantly given a boost which propelled her to the top spot on the UK Midweeks Sales Chart. She's managed to fight off stiff competition from Sean Paul and Labrinth, who charted second and third respectively, in her bid to clinch her third UK number one single. It's good to see Katy back on form following the announcement of her split with former husband Russell Brand earlier this year, with the video seeing her with a short haired looked as she plays the role of army woman.
